Strawberry Fields Forever...

We finished off part 4 of birthday week with a trip to Strawberry Fields Fest! We had loads of fun, it was the perfect close to a lovely week! We danced like fools, tried out a few cocktails, rapped to Kissy Sell Out's remix of the Fresh Prince of Belair and had lots of funny moments in between...

After Dinner Dance Party // Cool for Cats edition

Afterdinner copy

'Sup Kittens,

The Boss here. Week in, week out I have to put up with Lola, Rhi & Little M throwing shapes in the kitchen during their After Dinner Dance Parties whilst I'm trying to have a sneaky cat nap... so I'd thought it's about time that I took over the decks to throw my own tunes whilst they're in the studio getting stupidly excited working on designs for their first collection or something. So go and grab some cat nip, here's a selection of my favourite kit hits!

First up tonight is The Coasters with 'Three Cool Cats', totally rad. A nonchalently cool beat & irreverent lyrics with early rock n roll harmonies, I'm all over it. I probably should have chosen The Beatles version but I'm all about this original baby. Though seriously, what on earth is this video about darlings? So not cool.

Some of you may be deceived by my perpetual petulance thinking I'm not the most sentimental of felines, but believe me when I say that I do have a tender side. Cat Power's version of 'Sea of Love' may be one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard. Truly heartwarming. I think I want this at my wedding.

Ahhh David Bowie, my second favourite artist (after Bruce of course). Sounding a little bit latter day Johnny Cash at the start, 'Cat People' bursts, true to form into a spectacularly epic chorus, Bowie style. My paws are a-tapping. Interesting ideologies too, who are these Cat People?

Although I do love the version with the cute fluffy feline from The Aristocats this Psapp version is more up my alley. Enjoy kitty cats, everybody digs a swinging cat!

Peace out pussycats, I best go before they drag me away from the mac.

Bruce the Boss
The feline in chief at Twee Towers x

ps. Some may be shocked, even saddened that I haven't included any Springsteen, my idol in today's Dance Party... don't worry, soon as I get the ladies out the way again, there may a Brucey Bonus sometime soon!

Lola's Birthday Part Three // Movie Night

1

For Part 3 of Lauren's Birthday Extravaganza - we had the girls over to Twee Towers for a Cine-Magic Party! We moved one of the sofas into the studio, pulled the blinds, set up the projector and served up a whole host of treats!

2

We used this gorgeous 'pin up pop' to make champagne cocktails on the girls' arrival. Tasted as good as they look!

3

Snack table - sweet and butter popcorn in our hand painted chevron cones. Crisps, olives and we also made delicious cinema style nachos. YUM.

4

Pick'n'mix table. An assortment of sweet treats.

5

The Birthday Cake!! Rhi made Lola a Cake Pop Cake!

7

The short listed selection for the evening's viewing. In the end we went for Paris Je T'Aime and Audrey's Funny Face. Delight.

Lola's Birthday // A wondrous place

Firstly, I'd like to say a big, big thank you for all the birthday wishes on Thursday, so sweet of you! Also a particularly special thanks to my dear family & friends for the lovely cards and the most thoughtfully brilliant presents ever (loved them!), my parents who took me out for a lush birthday meal, Rhi & little M for my AMAZING pancake & champagne birthday breakfast and a hilarious morning messing around on photobooth, my wonderful friend Chris for afternoon birthday drinks & J and The Moons for serenading me with a 'Happy Birthday' from the studio! I was incredibly spoiled but was such a insanely fun day... thanks so much lovers!

So much going on and that's not all! It all started off smashingly last weekend when an early treat was planned by the boy (with time scheduled in the studio this week, he's been away putting the final touches to the new album, 'citing!)... Personally, I think birthdays should always be celebrated all week anyway and he got extra bonus points for making me a card that looked like a collar :)

Suitcase packed and no idea where we were off too, I was super excited to find that were were heading to an enchanting 17th Century manor house for the weekend. Lovingly restored, the estate masterfully blends the traditional with the contemporary creating a stunning backdrop to our amazing weekend for an extremely, extremely, lucky birthday girl, (Thank you so much J!)

The best part was sneaking around the rooms and discovering the magical Grand Hall...I never thought I'd be one to fall head over heels in lust with a window display and a fireplace. Though, maybe a little too extravagant for Twee Towers to emulate. The perspectives of the grand hall that we captured is really making me want to do some scribbles now as well! Love drawing architecture. The gardens and grounds looked simply magical in the summer sunshine too.

We wrapped up the night with a meal from an incredible a la carte menu (seriously, chips taste way better when they're stacked artfully like Jenga pieces) and indulged in a few cheeky tipples.

Not going to pretend everything was rosy... heels and pebbled driveways...nightmare. I shall remember to consider appropriate footwear next time, but tis to quibble...
